The sixth of the letters of Christ to the seven churches in Revelation is addressed to the small assembly at Philadelphia.  In this sermon, Pastor Daniel Kriss breaks down this letter into four aspects, beginning with the characteristics by which Christ describes Himself. Philadelphia’s commendation from Christ relates to their spirituality and obedience even with severely limited resources. Several commitments of Christ, including the promises of His honour, protection, return, and permanence, encouraged this little church in their fight of faith. The one command from Christ was to hold fast, to cling tightly to the truth they knew. Philadelphia was a model church who received no criticism whatsoever from Christ – may we also be a church that clings to the truth, reaches the lost, obeys with the heart, and operates with faithfulness.
