What is the “Lighthouse?”

The Lighthouse is a building in Alexandra which is run by Christians at Mount Cathedral Community Baptist Church with the intention of fulfilling the following purposes:

  • Community Awareness
  • Drop-in-Centre
  • Youth Destination
  • Christian Music and Book Shop
  • Community Event Location: Craft Days, Board Games, Etc.
  • Bible Studies/Bible College Courses
  • Location of Church Office
  • After School Tutoring
  • Much More

Where is the “Lighthouse?”

The Lighthouse is located at 37 Grant Street, Alexandra, previously the “Rodwells Business.” The building and its signage (still under construction) is visible from the 4-way intersection in the centre of town. It is situated next to the Dairy Cafe, and opposite the Rotary Park and Information Centre.

Why the “Lighthouse?”

Mount Cathedral Community Baptist Church is a community-focused church. Our desire is to reach people with the message of the Gospel and help them to see the love of Christ in both our words and our deeds! The Lighthouse is a place that people can come to who would not normally “darken the doors of a church building” and feel comfortable meeting with REAL people and talking about REAL issues.

Whether you would like to ask some questions, visit the pastor’s library, take advantage of a free tea or coffee or just peruse through the music and books for sale, we welcome you to drop in some time!

When is the “Lighthouse” open?

The Lighthouse IS OPEN now on Tuesdays from 9AM-11AM. It is going to take us some time to set up all the necessary aspects of this ministry. If you would like to be kept informed of the progress, needs and prayer requests, please email Daniel at pastor@mccbc.com.au

How can I help?

The Lighthouse is being completely funded by the Members and Friends of Mount Cathedral Community Baptist Church. As you can imagine it comes at a significant cost. If you would like to give to this ministry please contact one of the leadership. There are lots of items which we will be in need of to make this ministry and project functional and a full list will be available on this website soon. Please check back regularly for updates. In the meantime, please add this local church ministry and community endeavour to your prayer list!
