Welcome!

Mount Cathedral Community Baptist Church exists to glorify God by unashamedly preaching the full counsel of Scripture, and inviting those outside the church to repent and believe the gospel. Our two-fold purpose is summarised in Matthew 28:19-20 where Jesus commands His apostles to (1) Make disciples of all nations, and; (2) Teach them to observe His commandments.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

What you can expect

MCCBC is a warm, welcoming community of like-minded Christians who love the Lord and His Word. Our Lord’s Day services are saturated with Scripture, and centered around the person and work of Jesus Christ. If you love songs that are biblically sound, preaching that unpacks the truth of God’s Word, and fellowship that is genuine, you will feel at home in this local church.

What we believe

MCCBC is an autonomous church which subscribes to the Baptist Confession of Faith (1689). This document can be viewed in its entirety here.

Mr. Charles H. Spurgeon, having commissioned a reprinting of this confession for his own church in 1855 , wrote the following preface to which we wholeheartedly agree: “This little volume is not issued as an authoritative rule, or code of faith, whereby you are to be fettered, but as an assistance to you in controversy, a confirmation in faith, and a means of edification in righteousness. Here the younger members of our church will have a body of divinity in small compass, and by means of the scriptural proofs, will be ready to give a reason for the hope that is in them.”
