God’s Eulogy (Part 2)

God’s Eulogy (Part 1)

You may wonder, "Wait, God's eulogy... is God dead?" Absolutely not! Part 1 of this unique eulogy given by Pastor Daniel Kriss is an offering of thanks, adoration and praise for our LIVING God. This aptly-titled sermon takes us on a journey through the throne room of God's glorious grace, and points out the manifold blessings which He has lavishly poured out upon His undeserving people. It invokes our thanksgiving, praise, and adoration to the One who alone is worthy!

The Authority & Sufficiency of the Scripture

The greatest treasure (aside from Jesus Christ) we have in this life is the very, God-breathed, foundation of our faith – the Scripture.  In this sermon, Pastor Daniel Kriss brings our attention back to two crucial truths, the first confronting us with the reality that the Word of God has absolute authority in all matters pertaining to life in the spiritual realm.  The second truth explained is the absolute sufficiency of God’s Word – it is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness.  The challenge went forth at the end of this sermon to be acquainted with, and submit to, God’s “soul-book”. What a privilege to have His revealed truth in our hands!

Jesus Christ: Our Only Vision

In this Vision Sunday and Communion service wrapped into one, Pastor Daniel Kriss brings our focus back to the singular and central vision of our Christian lives - Jesus Christ.  The command in Hebrews 12:1-2 in this race we are running is to look away from everything else, and instead to look intently on Someone, the One who is the founder and perfecter of our faith.  It is when we are looking to Christ's atoning work, His joy, His perseverance, and His majesty and sufficiency, that our race will be run for His glory!

Characteristics of a Model Christian (Pt 3)

Faith is a largely misunderstood concept in church today.  In this third part of our mini-series on the "Characteristics of a Model Christian", Pastor Daniel Kriss delves into the expansive topic of faith, comprehensively defining it in Biblical terms, and then discussing how the purpose and work of faith forms an indispensable part of our Christian testimony and example. Is our faith being lived out as in such a way as to be an example to the believers?

Characteristics of a Model Christian (Pt 2)

Love. What is it really? In this continuation of our mini-series on the "Characteristics of a Model Christian", Pastor Daniel Kriss provides us with an in-depth exposition of true "agape" love - explaining the meaning, considering the example, observing the expression, confirming the experience, and encouraging the exercise of this crucial aspect of our example to the believers.  A summation of Paul's treatment of agape love in I Corinthians 13 closed out this message, with a challenge to truly consider whether our love is operating the way that God intends it to be.

Characteristics of a Model Christian (Pt 1)

In the book of 1 Timothy, which has been labelled by some as "The New Testament Church Manual", the Apostle Paul lays out five specific areas in which we are to be an example to the believers. In this message, Pastor Daniel Kriss draws our attention to the fact that age has nothing to do with exemplifying Christ, and the reality that example-setting is at the core of the Gospel - Christ is our Great Example!  He then delves into the first two of the characteristics of a godly example; our speech - an integral part of our testimony, and our conduct - our manner of life. Does every aspect of our speech and conduct give the right opinion of our God to those around us?

A Mighty Fortress is Our God

Are there times in your life when you feel besieged by trouble and fear? The children of Israel certainly would have when the mighty Assyrian King Sennacherib and his formidable armies surrounded the city of Jerusalem. But the Sons of Korah in the song of Psalm 46 turned their attention instead to their only refuge and fortress, the LORD of hosts. In this sermon, Pastor Daniel Kriss brings out three essential truths for our consideration -- the assurance of God's protection and power, His abiding presence, and His preeminence -- and builds these realities up to the challenge to simply be still and know that He is God!

Epaphroditus: A Devoted Servant (Part 3)

Do you earnestly long for the fellowship of your local church? Do you operate with a selfless concern for those in your local body of believers? Are you devoted to fulfilling the service for Christ that you have been called to, even to the point of death? These are several characteristics which Pastor Daniel Kriss expounded for us in this Part 3 of our mini-series on the man Epaphroditus. Have a listen today and be challenged by the dedication displayed in the life of this devoted servant, and reminded of the far surpassing value of serving Christ!
