Continuing in our study through the book of Colossians, preacher Lucas Macdonald explores in detail each of the four strands of false teaching which were permeating the church in Colossae – philosophy (Christ plus knowledge) , legalism (Christ plus works of righteousness), mysticism (Christ plus higher subjective spiritual experience), and asceticism (Christ plus rigorous self-denial). Lucas closed this sermon with a look back at chapter 1:15-19 of all that we have in Christ. The false teachers of this day were pushing that Christ alone was not enough for salvation – but the reality we know is that in Christ, we have ALL!
