Preacher Lucas Macdonald continues in our study of Colossians, now moving into chapter 3 where Paul takes the doctrine he has taught in chapters 1 & 2 and makes practical applications. Lucas explores the paradox of being “in the world, but not of the world”. We are to have a preoccupation with the divine, a continual gaze toward the glory of the Lord. The focal point is so clear in these first verses of chapter 3 – Christ, the very centre of our lives. Lucas continued to explain the meaning and practicalities of setting our minds on things above. Just as a compass needle is drawn north, our new life as believers has a new compass direction – due north to our Saviour!
