The Creator God became physically thirsty in order that we might be spiritually satisfied. Our communion series on “The Final Words of a Faithful Saviour” continues with this sermon on the fifth saying of Christ on the cross, “The Word of Suffering”. The reality and severity of Christ’s thirst on the cross is expounded upon by Pastor Daniel Kriss, drawing our attention to several points including the deity of Christ, the fulfilment of scripture in Christ, and the humanity of Christ. Our Saviour’s humanity on display in this fifth saying encourages our hearts to consider Christ’s empathy with all that relates to our own humanity.
