Sermon Notes

Every one of the Solas of the Reformation finds its’ ultimate purpose in “Soli Deo Gloria” – to the glory of God alone. In this fifth and final sermon of our series of rediscovery of the Protestant Reformation, Pastor Daniel Kriss defines and expounds on the expansive topic of the glory of God. Firstly defining the glory of God, which included exploration of God’s absolute glory, as well as his attributed glory, and moving into an overview displaying how each of the five Solas actively protects the glory of God, Pastor Daniel then made application by way of encouraging us to examine the sincerity of our desire to truly see God’s glory, as the Reformers did. A synopsis of the various expressions of the glory of God followed, which included the crowning jewel of God’s glory: the Gospel.  Horatius Bonar’s “Heaven at Last”, a breath-taking poem describing the life to come, closed out this stirring sermon with a fresh gaze Heaven-ward. Soli Deo Gloria!
